A (VERY SHORT) GREEN DAY REVIEW
Commenting on the current state of the US, Saviors is the third album in the Dookie/ American Idiot trilogy, causing some fans to argue that Green Day have simply done this all better, before Saviors. However, to many this is another example of the band's brilliance, as it is now their fifth UK number one album.
One thing making it so distinctly Green Day, is the signatures from the previous albums that have been mimicked in their new release- “are we we are the waiting” from American Idiot, turned into "we are not well, are we not well".
Green Day remains disgusted by the same 'redneck agenda' of the American Idiot days, opening with 'The American Dream is Killing Me' looking into the feeling of displacement in America with lyrics of 'we are not home' and 'People on the street/ Unemployed and obsolete'.
In a time of disillusionment, lies and war, Green Day are once again proving, they truly are saviours.
